Tyre fitting in Stratford-upon-Avon
Worn tread, a puncture that can't be repaired, a sidewall bulge or simply the change of season – there are plenty of reasons to replace tyres. We remove the old tyres, fit the new ones, set the pressures and balance each wheel, so the car drives as it should.
If you're looking for tyres in Stratford-upon-Avon, you're welcome to bring your own tyres to be fitted, or ask us about sourcing a set for your car. Send your tyre size (it's printed on the sidewall, e.g. 225/45 R17) and we'll let you know what we can do.
When to replace your tyres
- Low tread depth – the UK legal minimum for cars is 1.6 mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, but grip in the wet drops well before that
- Sidewall damage – cuts, cracks or bulges from kerbs and potholes
- Uneven wear – often a sign of alignment or pressure problems
- Age – rubber hardens and cracks over time, even on tyres with plenty of tread
- Punctures that can't be safely repaired
Wheel balancing
No wheel and tyre combination is perfectly even. Small differences in weight around the wheel cause vibration through the steering wheel or seat, usually noticeable at motorway speeds, plus uneven tyre wear and extra strain on suspension parts. Balancing measures the wheel as it spins and adds small, precisely placed weights to even it out.
Wheels should be balanced whenever a new tyre is fitted, after a tyre has been removed and refitted, after a wheel refurbishment, or any time you notice a new vibration. If you've been searching for wheel balancing near me, pop in to our studio at Langley Farm, CV37 0RN.
The perfect partner to a wheel refurb
Because we also refurbish and powder coat wheels, we can handle the whole job in one place: tyres off, wheels stripped, repaired and coated, then tyres back on and balanced. It's also the ideal moment to fit new tyres if yours are getting low – ask us when you book your refurb.

Common
questions
Can I bring my own tyres to be fitted?
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own tyres. If you'd rather we looked into sourcing them, ask us with your tyre size and we'll let you know what we can do.
How much does tyre fitting and balancing cost?
If we're powder coating your wheels, tyre removal and refitting, balancing and new valves are already included in the price (from £200 for a set of four). For tyre work on its own, it depends on the wheel size and what's needed. Send us your tyre size and the job on WhatsApp or give us a call and we'll give you a price.
Why is my steering wheel vibrating?
A vibration that appears at certain speeds is often caused by an unbalanced wheel, for example after a weight has fallen off or a tyre has been changed. Balancing usually cures it. If it doesn't, the cause may be elsewhere and worth checking with a garage.
Do I need balancing after a wheel refurbishment?
Yes. Whenever a tyre is removed and refitted the wheel should be rebalanced. When we refurbish your wheels we can refit the tyres and balance them as part of the job.
What is the legal minimum tread depth in the UK?
For cars it's 1.6 mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, around the whole circumference. Many experts recommend replacing tyres well before that, as wet-weather grip falls as the tread wears.
